James S. Carr
AIA-Co Owner of Residence Mgmt. Inc., Chief Executive Officer

James S. Carr serves as chief executive officer of RMI, providing strategic leadership and operational oversight to RMI and its affiliated companies. He maintains offices in both Florida and Pennsylvania, and travels extensively throughout the Southeast.

He has over 30 years of real estate architectural, construction supervision, and development experience in the multi-family sector. Mr. Carr is owner of the architectural firm, James S. Carr, A.I.A. and Associates and a co-managing partner in Village Partners. He has led the design and development of over 185,000 residential units in his career along with 4,500 for his own account. Mr. Carr was a Senior Partner in the national architecture firm The Martin Organization. Mr. Carr’s primary focus has been on planned multi-family residential and mixed-use communities. Mr. Carr is the co-managing partner of Village partners with Investors Realty. Village Partners is in various stages of acquisition/restructure and pre-development on a number of multifamily residential units throughout the Southeast. Mr. Carr is a member of the National Council of Architect Registration Board, the American Institute of Architects, the National Association of Home Builders, the Institute of Residential Marketing, and the National Sales and Marketing Council. Mr. Carr received a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Arts in City Planning from Drexel University in Philadelphia PA.

Heidi Marling
President of Residence Management, Inc.

Ms. Marling serves as president and chief operating officer of RMI, responsible for guiding the company’s overall strategic direction, and ensuring that RMI remains at the forefront of practices designed to meet partnership and client goals to maximize asset performance. Ms. Marling is President and the owner of Investors Realty, which hold a 50% ownership interest in all Village Partners Companies, including Residence Management Inc., (RMI) and Village Residences (Corporate Housing) along with Philadelphia based James S. Carr, AIA. This group of companies has completed over one billion dollars in transactions and built over 4,220 multi-family units in Florida for clients, investors and its own account. Ms. Marling began her career in international and real estate lending for Continental Bank in 1976, where she was assigned to the Asian desk with responsibility for commercial banking activities in that region, followed by a transfer to the real estate division focusing on construction lending throughout the Southeast. In 1982 she joined Sudler Marling and over a period of 10 years worked through all major disciplines in the development and asset management process. Ms. Marling is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, with a BS in Business Administration and an MBA in Finance. She has also attended the University of Chicago, DePaul University, and the Appraisal Institute for Post Graduate work in Management, International Accounting, and Real Estate Appraisal. She is a Licensed Real Estate Broker and Licensed Mortgage Broker in the State of Florida.

James V. Johnson, CPA
Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Johnson is responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting for the Village Partners Group of companies, including RMI. Mr. Johnson was previously the Chief Financial Officer of Tropical Village, Inc., a real estate development firm in Orlando, Florida. He has over thirteen years’ experience in the real estate industry. He began his career in the international accounting firm of Deloitte and Touche in the healthcare audit division. Mr. Johnson received his BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland and a Masters of Business Taxation from the University of Minnesota. He also holds active licenses as a Florida Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Forensic Accountant.

Mike Wilson
Chief Performance Officer
Comptroller

Mr. Wilson is the Comptroller for all income producing properties and head of human resource functions for our companies. He is responsible for corporate and community analytics, property transitions, and customer satisfactions for residents, and associates. Since joining Village Partners/RMI in 2004 he has been instrumental in the integration of systems and procedures for RMI’s portfolio of properties. Prior to joining RMI, Mr. Wilson worked in Washington DC for Weichert Realtors, the nation’s largest privately owned real estate firm, Montgomery Village Foundation, a large HOA management company, and Lowe Enterprises. Mr. Wilson graduated from Fairmont State University in West Virginia.

Ed Biggs
Director Design Development

Ed Biggs comes to RMI with over 30 years of design experience having completed projects throughout the U.S., England, and the Cayman Islands. Working with RMI since 2000, he has been instrumental in implementing the face and identity of each community through creative interior design solutions. As a member of our team he works alongside ownership at the early stages of acquisition and development to insure each project is developed to offer our market the latest in design, technology, function, style and beauty.

Ed started his career in New York City as the Manager of a prestigious antiques firm selling to the trade and subsequently left for a position with Federated Stores in Florida. After five years with Federated, he opened a highly successful upscale retail furnishing store in Sarasota, which he ran for fifteen years, before selling it to focus on design solutions for the resort, hotel and multifamily industry thorough Biggs Design Group, LLC. Ed is a Licensed Interior Designer in the State of Florida, and has been published nationally in Home Magazines as well as the Washington Post and Houston Chronicle for his innovative residential, resort and commercial interiors. Ed brings an enormous amount of creative energy to all projects, designed, and built by our affiliates, and managed by RMI.

Dana Drake
Corporate Management Services
Partner Village Residences

For the past 15 years Ms. Drake has been Village Partner’s/RMI’s leading apartment leasing and management executive. She began her tenure in 1998, where she played a pivotal role in the facilitation and development of the operations and lease-up of 4 new construction projects. While working within the management division, she identified a strong demand in the corporate rental market and created a business plan for “Village Residences”, a furnished short term corporate rental company. Since that time, she has made this company a success and is now dedicated to its continued growth and expansion. Her successful marketing and promotion of Village Residences has proven to be an excellent complement to our residential services through RMI. Previously, Ms. Drake worked in the multifamily industry for 15 years, beginning her career with Property Asset Management and continuing with The Aspen Group, Owner’s Property Management, and Pinnacle Management.

Martin Holly
Director of Branding

Martin serves as the Director of Branding for RMI. Along with the company’s owners he is responsible for developing, coordinating and integrating all brand related facets of the company to include marketing, advertising and design. His primary responsibility is to find each properties position in the market and, with an in-depth understanding of our customer, create a brand that links our residents to our product. As a fine artist, his ability to merge market sensitivity with design enables him to develop a unique position for each of our assets within their specific market. Martin began his career in computer tech support for Neill Corporation and then expanded into a sales and design position for Pfizer and Ralph Lauren Polo. In 2003, he started Switch Branding to support his client base within all areas of commercial marketing and advertising to include both print, social media and film. Martin is a graduate of Loyola University of New Orleans with a degree in Fine Arts (concentration in graphic art/design); he has worked for RMI since 2005.

Lacy Perry
Office Manager

Lacy Perry has been with Residence Management, Inc. (RMI), since 2010. She is currently the Executive Assistant to the Village Partner’s ownership as well as the office manager for all RMI entities. Prior to accepting the opportunity to relocate to Orlando, Florida to work in the corporate office as an executive assistant; Ms. Perry spent three years as the Property Manager for an RMI managed apartment community in Pensacola, FL. During her tenure in property management, she was responsible for the day-to-day staffing, leasing and operations of a 192 unit apartment project. In addition to property management, Ms. Perry brings to the company a well-rounded background acquired through her work in in hospitality management with many independent restaurants, personal banking with Wachovia/Wells Fargo Bank N.A., and marina management services with Marina Management Corp. located in Pensacola, FL.
Ms. Perry is a graduate of the University of West Florida, with a BS in Hospitality, Recreation and Resort Management.
